34

Yesterday was my birthday.  My 34th birthday to be exact.  I've never been big on celebrating birthdays, particularly the last couple of years since they served as a painful reminder of what I didn't have.  But 34 is different.  Gone are the birthdays of thinking, wishing, hoping, that I'll have a baby or at least be pregnant by my next birthday.  That's not going to happen.  So my wish for my 34th year is health and happiness, new experiences, and growing as a person. It's going to be an awesome year!

    1. Thanks! Life is so much happier (and less stressful) by not focusing on getting knocked up! Glad you're enjoying it too! :)

    1. Thanks! I spent the day playing video games, which is exactly what I wanted to do. Then hubs cooked dinner (=picked up takeout Mexican) and we spent the evening cuddled up on the couch watching old episodes of X-Files. I'm a simple girl and it was perfect for me.

    2. Ah, a lady after my own heart. Video games are always a good distraction. What type do you play?

Ah X-Files... it's been forever since I've watched that series. I kind of want to go back and re-watch it now. Sounds like a perfect day!

    3. I'm more of the casual gamer variety. I mainly play cartoon-ish animation types of games (anything Lego, Knack, anything Mario, etc.) because I get really motion sick with first person shooters. Right now I'm obsessed with Farming Simulator 15 (I find it a weird form of stress relief) and Lego Jurassic World. What do you play? If you have a PlayStation or Wii, email me your gamer tag!

We're now re-watching X-Files for the second time. Almost to the end of season 3. The entire series is on Hulu Plus!

    4. Did X-Files fall apart in the later seasons? I vaguely remember I thought it went a bit off track but the earlier seasons were excellent.

We have the Wii and the Nintendo 360 I think and a Playstation 2 (never upgraded to the latest). I don't often play any of those consoles though. I mostly use Wii to do the exercise ones. I generally just play games on my computer or the NIntendo 3DS.

I play games depending on my mood. For stress relief, I tend to go for the hack and slash, dungeon crawl type games like Torchlight, Titan Quest, Sacred. Other times, I tend to play RPGs, Broken Sword, Child of Light. Right now I am playing Dreamfall Chapters. And then there are the old 2D style games like Blackwell Trilogy, Gemini Rue and TechnoBabylon by Wadjet Eye Games.

When I was playing the Playstation, I used to be into the Final Fantasy games a lot.

    5. I loved Child of Light! Hubs is more of a RPG sort of guy but there is just too much strategy involved in those games to hold my attention. I do enjoy the occasional hack and slash game though!

X-files... seasons 7-9 weren't that great in my opinion. Season 3 is my favorite, I think. Or maybe that's just because we're watching season 3 right now. If you like X-Files/sci fi, you might check out Fringe. It's been off the air for a couple of years, but I loved that show!

    6. My hubby plays those strategy games where they have to build a kingdom and recruit armies to protect the kingdom from invasion and find and farm resources to provide for the kingdom. It's over my head.

Child of Light is by far my favourite RPG game to date. I love the artwork and the storyline was so whimsical. A lot of people seem to like the game. I added my voice to those who requested a sequel so hopefully the creators will listen and make one. I know this game has wide international fame since its release. It's popular everywhere. I finished the game a while ago but am on my second play through. I got the deluxe edition so on the second play through, I have Aurora wearing the black dress with the silver hair instead of her gold dress/red hair combo.

I have heard a lot of good things about Fringe. Thanks for the rec. I might see if I can find it on Netflix. It is a shame X-Files went the way it did.
